The Support Care Worker will assist guiding clients and families through the admissions process, and providing daily support, encouragement, and care as clients participate in recovery programming. This is a dual role, requiring strong organizational skills, compassion, and the ability to balance administrative responsibilities with direct client support in a therapeutic community environment. Support Care Workers will foster a safe, recovery-oriented environment while promoting personal responsibility, community engagement, and sustained recovery.
PROFESSIONAL & PERSONAL QUALITIES:
- Degree, Diploma or certification in psychology, social work, addictions, nursing, or a related field is an asset; equivalent experience considered.
- Experience in healthcare, addictions recovery, behavioral health, or client admissions is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, nonjudgmental approach.
- Ability to handle sensitive client information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage both client support and administrative duties.
- CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Willing to work 5 on, 2 off rotation with Mornings, Days, and Nights
SALARY RANGE:
- In accordance with the Blood Tribe Department of Health Inc. Salary Grid.

Addiction Counsellor

REPORTING TO: Program ManagerSUMMARY OF WORK:
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Addiction Counsellor will be an integral part of the clinical team, providing individual and group counseling to clients struggling with addiction and incorporating equine-assisted therapeutic interventions to support client wellness. The Counsellor will work collaboratively with clients to develop personalized treatment plans, facilitate therapeutic interventions, and support their recovery journey in a compassionate and empowering environment.
PROFESSIONAL & PERSONAL QUALITIES:
- Educational Background:
- Licensed or certified addiction counsellor preferred.
- Degree in social work, psychology, counselling psychology or any related fields.
- Training or certification in Equine-Assisted Therapy, Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP), Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL), or a related.
- Experience Background:
- Previous experience working in addiction treatment or mental health counselling.
- Experience working with horses and understanding equine behavior and safety practices.
- Strong understanding of addiction and Therapeutic Communities.
- Proven experience in maintain professional boundaries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with clients.
- Empathy, compassion, and a commitment to helping individuals achieve lasting recovery.
- Excellent presentation skills and teaching skills
- Blackfoot Culture knowledge will be an asset
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic record-keeping systems. Willingness to assist in various tasks and areas around the Recovery Community.

The Program Lead provides day-to-day leadership, coordination, and support for the Recovery Community Program. Working under the direction of the Program Manager, the Program Lead helps ensure programs are delivered effectively, staff and volunteers are supported, and participants receive compassionate, recovery-oriented services. The role acts as a bridge between frontline staff and management, promoting a safe, inclusive, and person-centered recovery environment.
PROFESSIONAL & PERSONAL QUALITIES:
- Educational Background:
- Diploma, certificate, or degree in Human Services, Social Work, Addiction Studies, Psychology, Community Support, or related field preferred.
- Experience Background:
- Minimum 1 year experience working in Recovery, addictions, mental health, community services, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a leadership, supervisory, or team coordination role.
- Experience working with individuals affected by substance use disorders, mental health challenges, or other vulnerable populations.
- Knowledge of recovery-oriented systems of care and community resources.
- Strong understanding of recovery principles, addiction, mental health, and community supports.

- Completion of a recognized Healthcare Aide (HCA) program and registered in Alberta.
- Previous experience working in addiction treatment, community care, or supportive living settings is preferred.

Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to individuals undergoing addiction treatment. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the LPN will contribute to the overall well-being and recovery of our clients by administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and providing compassionate support.
PROFESSIONAL & PERSONAL QUALITIES:
- Graduation from an accredited LPN program and current license with the College for Alberta’s Licensed Practical Nurses (CLHA) as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Previous experience working in addiction treatment or behavioral health settings is preferred but not required.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to recognize signs and symptoms of substance use disorders, withdrawal syndromes, and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Compassionate and nonjudgmental approach to caring for individuals with substance abuse disorders.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion and confidentiality.
