Licensed Practical Nurse
FTE: Casual – Part Time 20 hours per week
Program: Lethbridge Wellness Shelter Stabilization Unit
Reporting To: LWSSU Operations Manager
Summary of Work:
Under the direction of the LWSSU Operations Manager and as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, provide support and assistance to the Shelter and Stabilization Unit Teams. Primary focus will be the Sexually Transmitted Blood Bourne Infection (STBBI) program and must currently have a phlebotomy certificate.
Professional & Personal Qualifications:
- Graduate of approved Practical Nurse program with current license.
- Current registration with College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta
- Current Phlebotomy Certification.
- Other certifications/competencies as required by registering body and as required by program/department.
- Current CPR certification, to be re-certified annually.
- Current Frist Aid certification, to be re-certified every three years.
- Minimum of three to five years of experience in related clinical area.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in nursing.
- Non-Violence Crisis Intervention Training Certificate (or be willing to complete).
- Current basic and advanced foot care certification
- Shall be mature, flexible, pleasant and exercise a high degree of initiative and judgment.
- Must have necessary communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective interaction between all persons, including coworkers.
- Must act with integrity and treat all information regarding residents, physicians, staff and financial and operational status of the organization as confidential.
- Knowledge and roles of the multidisciplinary team members
- Ability to function independently and effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Application of proper body mechanic principles
- Ability to problem-solve and have critical thinking skills.
- Able to set priorities in the face of multiple demands.

Salary Range:
- In accordance with the Blood Tribe Department of Health Inc. salary grid.
