REPORTING TO: Chief Administrative Officer

Blood Tribe Department of Health is seeking an experienced, strategic and people focused Director of Human Resources to lead Human Resources services across a large and diverse health organization. This role provides leadership across workforce, strategy, employee and labour relations, organizational development, policy, recruitment, performance, and workplace culture. The Director works closely with senior leadership, directors and managers to ensure Human Resources practices are consistent, responsive, culturally grounded and aligned with the needs of the organization and its employees.

THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Human Resources provides strategic leadership and oversight of Human Resource services across Blood Tribe Department of Health.

The Director is responsible for:

  • Providing strategic HR leadership and executive advice.
  • Leading workforce strategy, employee and labour relations, and organizational development.
  • Strengthening HR governance, systems, policies and organizational practices.
  • Supporting leadership effectiveness, workforce performance and organizational change.
  • Overseeing employment related risk, compliance and accountability.
  • Building a strong, culturally responsive and engaged workplace.
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce, Organizational Development, or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience, including 5 years in a senior leadership or management role.
  • CPHR designation is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated senior level experience in employee and labour relations, workforce planning, organizational development, policy, performance management and HR risk.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable employment legislation, and human rights.
  • Proven ability to advise executives, lead teams, manage change and navigate complex workplace matters.
  • Experience working with First Nations
SALARY RANGE:
  • In accordance with the Blood Tribe Department of Health Inc. Salary Grid.
