REPORTING TO: Manager of Addiction and Mental Health

SUMMARY OF WORK:  
Under the supervision of the Manager of Addiction and Mental Health, the Clinical Team
Coordinator will be responsible to complete the first initial assessment with an individual who is
seeking assistance with substance abuse, mental health. He or she will be responsible to provide
referrals to appropriate service providers/programs, for clients on issues related to, substance or
behavioural addiction, concurrent disorders, other mental health, behavioral and emotional
concerns such as abuse, violence, grief and loss as these are connected to Addiction or the impact
of Addiction within the family and intergenerationally. The Co-ordinator will be responsible for
organizing and facilitating weekly Day Treatment Program

PROFESSIONAL & PERSONAL QUALITIES:
  • Computer literacy skills and the ability to work processing packages and e-mail systems.
  • Sound knowledge of the following techniques is required: crisis intervention, anger diffusion,
    conflict intervention and resolution, and use of chemical dependency diagnostic tools.
  • Knowledge of Blackfoot culture, language and traditions. Previous work with Indigenous
    community will be an asset.
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act, the Child and Family Services Act and adherence to ethical
    and professional standards of conduct is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist clients, family members or others with concern and empathy;
    respecting their confidentiality and privacy and communicating in a courteous and respectful
    manner.
  • Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to privacy.
SALARY RANGE:
  • In accordance with the Blood Tribe Department of Health Inc. Salary Grid.
