Licensed Practical Nurse

PROGRAM: Long Term Care
REPORTING TO: Nurse ManagerSUMMARY OF WORK:
The Licensed Practical Nurse contributes to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of Resident care while applying the nursing practice standards set by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). The Licensed Practical Nurse provides appropriate and safe care to Residents, encourages independence and self-care, and performs other duties as requested.
PROFESSIONAL & PERSONAL QUALITIES:
- Current registration and in good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta.
- Other certifications/competencies as required by the registering body and the Organization.
- Current CPR certification, to be re-certified annually.
- Current First Aid certification, to be re-certified every two years.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective interaction between all persons, including coworkers.
- Effective organizational skills.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Ability to:
- Function independently and effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Multi-task in a demanding environment
- Maintain and/or improve the personal health and well-being of Residents.
- Able to provide and receive constructive feedback.
SALARY RANGE:
- Salary Grid as established by BTDH.

REPORTING TO: Nurse ManagerSUMMARY OF WORK:
Health Care Aides are valued members of the health-care team and provide essential daily living support and comfort to Residents by:
- Providing personal assistance and support for the Residents.
- Providing appropriate and safe care to Residents.
- Encouraging independence and self-care.
The Health Care Aide will report directly to the Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse and interact with Residents, family, and employees with a positive and supportive manner.
PROFESSIONAL & PERSONAL QUALITIES:
- Certificate from an approved, accredited Health Care Aide program.
- Registered with Alberta HCA Directory
- Other certifications/competencies as required by the Organization.
- Current CPR certification, to be re-certified annually.
- Current First Aid certification, to be re-certified every two years.
- Have necessary communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective interaction between all persons, including coworkers.
- Have effective organizational skills.
- Time management will be an asset.
- Ability to:
