Reporting To: Stabilization Coordinator  

Summary of Work:

Under the direction of the Stabilization Coordinator, the Intake and Discharge Worker is one of the first points of contact for all guests entering the Stabilization Unit (SU).  The Intake and Discharge Worker assists guests who are experiencing homelessness, mental health and substance abuse issues and assist the SU team with processing SU referrals. The Intake and Discharge Worker ensures smooth operations of SU intake and Discharge process, ensuring policies are adhered to by both staff and guests, conducts wellness rounds when required and assist the SU team as required with daily task checklist and roles. 

Professional & Personal Qualities:
  • Must have First Aid training.
  • Must have Naloxone/Narcan Training.
  • Must have NVCI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) Certification.
  • Must be proficient in the use of computers and databases.
  • Must have administrative or clerical experience.
  • Must be mature, pleasant, and exercise a high degree of initiative and judgment.
  • Must understands and maintains guest/worker boundaries.
  • Must have the necessary communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective interaction between all persons, including coworkers.
  • Must act with integrity and treat all information regarding guests, emergency medical personnel, employees, and the financial and operational status of the organization as confidential.
  • Must have knowledge of the roles of the multidisciplinary team.
  • A knowledge of community resources preferred.
  • Must be able to set priorities in the face of multiple demands.
  • Must have the ability to function effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Must be able to sit, walk, transfer, lift, carry equipment and supplies.
Salary Range:
  • As per the Blood Tribe Department of Health Salary Grid.
