The Bringing the Spirit Home Program provides hope for those who are affected by substance dependency. Under the close supervision of a team of physicians, paramedics, counsellors, nurses, peer support workers and elders, the client’s path to recovery is carefully monitored based on their individual needs. Individuals will receive respectful and culturally-safe services in a safe and supportive environment.
The Director is responsible for the day-to-day management and delegation of employees to care for the clients, creating a team atmosphere and ensuring employees deliver the highest quality health services.
Professional & Personal Qualifications:
- Degree in nursing from a recognized University.
- Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in Alberta, Canada.
- Must have current registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Must hold a non-restricted license with CRNA
- Have current registration with TPP Alberta is preferred.
- Specialization in psychiatry or addiction medicine is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, with at least 3 years in an addiction treatment setting is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of a wide range of therapeutic modalities and interventions, especially those relevant to addiction.
- Prior leadership or managerial experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the philosophy and goals of Blood Tribe Recovery Community.
- Strong decision-making skills and judgment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
SALARY RANGE:
- In accordance with Blood Tribe Department of Health, Inc. salary grid.

REPORTING TO: Nurse Manager
LOCATION: Standoff, AB and Fort Macleod
SHIFT PATTERN: 7.5 hours
SALARY/BENEFITS: As per United Nurses of Alberta Collective Agreement

Under the close supervision of a team of physicians, paramedics, counsellors, nurses, peer support workers and elders, the client’s path to recovery is carefully monitored based on their individual needs. Individuals will receive respectful and culturally-safe services in a safe and supportive environment.
Position Summary:
- The Registered Nurse, under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, coordinates and provides nursing care by applying nursing practice standards set by the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA); provides appropriate and safe care of clients, provides active client teaching and referral to appropriate community services and agencies and other duties as requested
Professional Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Current registration with College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Computer literacy skills and familiar with CHIP, NetCare, etc.
- Harm Reduction experience required.
- Knowledge of HEP C and HIV infections and treatment.
- IV Initiation and management.
- Familiar with ECHO project, DRUM projects.
- FNIHB STTBI certification an asset.
- Phlebotomy Certification an asset
- Minimum of three years’ experience in nursing.
- Class 4 driver’s license.
- CPR certification, First Aid certification TDG certification.
PERSONAL QUALITIES:
- Function effectively both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills while working directly with patients and their family members is required.
- Strong decision making/problems solving abilities.
- Must have effective organizational skills.
- Able to set priorities in the face of multiple demands.
- Take responsibility to maintain or improve personal health and well-being.
- Able to provide and receive feedback.
SALARY RANGE:
- In accordance with United Nurses of Alberta – Collective Agreement salary grid Local #416.

SHIFT PATTERN: Rotating Evening and Night – Monday to Sunday 1600 – 0800
